What a great decision that was, I had one of my best afternoons fishing at Wally ever!!
Arrived around 15:00, and made my way to #4 and to the corner I fished on Thursday, the wind was blowing straight at me from the SW. I had a few casts and decided to join all the other fishermen on the causeway fishing in to #4.
I met Action Man, and he told me he had pulled a few out on an intemediate line and a few fish were showning. I fished next to him and in about 1.5 hours I had hooked 6 fish. All cracking fish between 2 and 4 lb. They were mostly taking a #14 hares ear buzzer on the point that had a CDC bubble. the fishing was fantastic and most of the fish were targeted as they fed just below the surface. On spooning all had a few buzzers in them. Action Man left and someone moved in to his spot, I then landed a fish and a russian geezer started fishing in my spot. I had a few words with this invader and was going to move to #5 anyway as the fishing was 'too easy'! So I left the prat too it.
As I walked along the causeway, a bloke hooked a fish on a booby fished washing line.
I got to the South bank of #4 and met a really nice old boy called John who was a Chelsea Fan and a comedian to boot! Fishing was great here as well. Had another few fish to the buzzer and also a stripped peacock one. One of the fish around 3lb was foul-hooked in the tail and made of like the clapper and took most of my backing with him. Thought I had hooked a double, as it made it half way to the islands.
The fish apparently have now come up to the top to feed on the flys as the Daphnia has sunk down to the bottom.
Unfortunately had to leave at 8:00 to meet the other half.
